Warmup starts at 18:30, followed by a short moving meditation continueing into the dance journey.
The purpose is to offer a solid foundation of awareness to move from.
Respectful men and women, their own movements sensitive to every other in the space.
Sometimes eyes closed and inner vision open. Sometimes eyes open in refinement of the dance.
Conversing without words but with the language of the body.
Moving and Present.
The appeal for sincere dancers, who wish to use the time in a deep exploration of the mystery of Being a Human. And not as a party.

WHAT IS DANCE AWAKE?
dance awake / conscious dance / mindful movement / moving meditation
Dance Awake is a conscious dance practice of exploring all the dimensions of one’s own being. Through movement we access our own inner wisdom. It is a practice that supports physical, mental, and emotional well being. Each practice is supported by a wave of great music, simple guidelines and open-ended facilitation.

No previous dance experience is needed: EveryBody is welcome.
Guidelines for Dancing with others:
RATES FOR DROP-INS
• R120 Standard Entry (R20 goes to our soup feeding scheme in Khayalitsha)
• R80 Students/Concessions
• Please wear comfy clothes and bring water to stay hydrated.
• Please bring food for the altar (eg fruit, nuts, chocolate). We envision sharing snacks and chats after the dance, for grounding and connecting before the drive home.

No drugs, alcohol, photography, cell phones or the use of recording devices are permitted.
People who do not respect fellow dancers and the space will be asked to leave.
